Anky van grunsven biography channel Theodora Elisabeth Gerarda "Anky" van Grunsven (born 2 January ) is a Dutch dressage champion who is the only rider to record three successive Olympic wins in the same event. Along with her Olympic successes, she has won numerous medals at the World Equestrian Games (WEG), and is the only rider to have competed at every WEG since they began.
Anky van Grunsven is the all-time leader among equestrian Olympians with nine (9) medals, and she is the only rider to win an individual event three times in a row, doing so in the individual dressage, which she won in (on Bonfire), and (on Salinero). In addition, she placed second in that event in , and has won four silver team medals (in , , and ) and one team bronze.
Van Grunsven has also excelled in other competitions, winning the individual gold in the World Equestrian Games of and , and winning the dressage World Cup eight times (, , , , , , , and ).
